    Slavery and Human Trafficking statement

    This statement comprises the slavery and human trafficking statement of Arup Group Limited (‘Arup’) for the financial year ending 31 March 2016 in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

    Arup is a provider of professional consultancy services with more than 13,000 employees worldwide. Ove Arup & Partners International Limited and Ove Arup & Partners Limited are subsidiary companies registered in the United Kingdom, both of which have ratified this statement.

    Arup’s supply chain includes professional services firms acting as sub-consultants (in the delivery of professional services), as well as suppliers of services and equipment to our offices.

    During the relevant financial year we have reviewed our policies and procedures aimed at the prevention of slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains.

    Our UK Sustainable Procurement Strategy has facilitated improvements in procurement, including fairly traded goods and the London living wage for outsourced staff (in accordance with the guidance of the Living Wage Foundation). We have undertaken an audit of our facilities management contracts in the UK.

    We are in the process of developing a supply chain compliance programme which will include obligations to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will consist of:

    • a template Request For Proposal and standard terms and conditions for potential suppliers (enabling assessment of compliance with Arup’s requirements);
    • amended standard sub-consultancy agreements.
