This new 32,000 m2 stadia will fulfil an important role in shaping the image and life of the city, contributing to its people and visitors.

Multipurpose design

Designed to operate in a wide range of modes, the engineering will allow the operator the flexibility to accommodate different configurations of spectators and events, from rock concerts and shows through sports ranging from handball to ice hockey.

Arup assisted in the development of the initial venue proposals as part of the feasibility and financing stage, and will be also responsible for several elements of the schemes including structural and civil engineering.

“Copenhagen has set out to create one of the best urban environments to be found anywhere in the world and the Arena will go a long way toward helping the city achieve that ambition.”

— Matthew Lovell, Arup Director

Arup´s specialist venues team is developing the facilities requirements and delivering multidisciplinary engineering excellence to create an arena which will enhance the cultural richness of Copenhagen.
